While I am experiencing success in finding great back issue comics on this trip, I did want to mention to you that my good fortune has more to do with my having a really large network of friends within the comics world, than to any measure of oversupply. In point of fact, for the first time since the recession began four years ago, I am now hearing from some of my most reliable comics suppliers that they are having to scramble to find overstock to sell me. That is a huge turnaround from just two years ago, when I could easily fill a cargo van with overstock back issue comics at nearly any store that I visited. Upon reflection, I think that the two primary causes of this reduction in back issue comics supplies seem to be that A) the economy has improved a bit, so fewer people are looking to liquidate their collections, and B) all the great comics movies finally seem to brought back into the comics world a large number of readers, and collectors, who previously left the field. With supplies now dwindling, and many eager comics buyers returning, it is no wonder that I am having a little bit of a harder time finding old comics to buy on this trip. While my large network of contacts is helping me to overcome this old comics shortage, my other cause for concern this morning is the overwhelming reaction to our 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword sale that I just put into effect 48 hours ago.
