Signed Stan Lee Book, 1968 BARBARELLA GN, DUNE Sets, more!
Howdy!
I want to begin today by thanking everyone who has been waiting for news that
their order has shipped. We were making great progress on being completely
current when our shipping crew was devastated by a severe virus that is circulating
here in the Denver area. We have had a couple of our people progress into pneumonia,
so this sickness has been quite serious. We are adapting by shifting over some
of the new hires that we just picked up to help us with our impending warehouse
move into helping pull orders, but these new team members do not yet have the
training to help us with skilled tasks. Please remain patient, and we will
have all pending orders shipped ASAP.
In the meantime, my seemingly endless task of preparing our huge 56th Ave.
warehouse for its upcoming consolidation into our
Jason St. Mega-Store
is
continuing to make strides. I spent the past two days separating over 500 large
file boxes of outdated paperwork into stacks that we can send off to recycle,
and those whose contents we need to shred to protect the privacy of our clients.
Blessedly, we were given two industrial grade shredders on Tuesday, as my
shredding pile is turning out to be enormous!
STAN LEE'S RIFTWORLD HC S&N
Aside from sorting boxes of old papers, I am continuing to locate "lost" stashed
of cool collectibles throughout our 56th Ave. building. As a case in point, a
few years ago we purchased a small stack of
RIFTWORLD hardcover novels,
signed by
Stan Lee. We originally sold out of these cool little books, but one ended up in
a shipment that was returned to us as undeliverable. If you would like to own
this cool hardcover, I will let it go for only $75 to the first order we receive.
That's about what Stan charges for just his autograph these days.
BARBARELLA GN (1968) 31 2nd Print
Another rare item that I just located was a small stack of the original
1968 BARBARELLA graphic novel.
I located both
first
and
second printings
in a mixed batch of grades, but ended
up finding mostly VF/NM second printings. If you would like to own a VF/NM copy
of the second printing of the
1968 BARBARELLA graphic novel,
it can be yours for
only $24.95.
DUNE 3 PACK (1987)
Also available for $24.95 are
sealed 3-packs of the original Marvel adaptation of the DUNE movie.
We had absolutely not a single copy of this very low print run
mini-series in stock on our
website
prior to my finding a small box filled with
these
3-packs
on the top shelf of a remote storage area. We're stashing some copies
away for future sales, but I asked Will Moulton to let 20 complete sets in the
original packaging go at this $24.95 special price.
Finally, continuing on my Science Fiction theme for today, I can offer you the
DC Graphic Novel adaptations listed below at only $5 each! We have upwards of
100 copies of each in stock, so these will probably not run out. FYI, all funds
received from the sales of my "lost" specials go directly to help for the costs
of our warehouse move.
HELL ON EARTH GN (DC SCIENCE FICTION GN #1)
NIGHTWINGS GN (DC SCIENCE FICTION GN #2)
FROST & FIRE GN (DC SCIENCE FICTION GN #3)
MAGIC GOES AWAY GN (DC SCIENCE FICTION GN #6)
SANDKINGS GN (DC SCIENCE FICTION GN #7)
My final item for today is a quick reminder that we do have a 40% off MILEHIGH2
codeword sale in effect for you right now on all ten million of our
back issue comics and magazines.
Only new comics, a few variants, and our CGC's are excluded from this system wide
back issues sale. The 40% off discount DOES apply to most of the hundreds of
scarce comics that Will Moulton just added into today's
New-In-Stock
listings for
you. Most of these are single issues that I recovered from other undeliverable
packages that we sent out years ago. If you have not checked out
New-In-Stock
for
a while, you really should.
Happy collecting!

P.S. While many of the cartons of old papers that I am sorting are just expired
invoices and mail, I do also occasionally come across exceptionally cool relics
from the early days of Mile High Comics. Below is a listing of specials that I
offered in the spring of 1981. This entire "catalogue" consisted of an 8.5X14 sheet
of paper folded twice! By the time that we stopped printing catalogues in early 1987,
and switched to listing only on our website, we were up to 128 pages. A printed
catalogue of our listings today would probably be well over 3,000 pages. I am
frequently amazed that we have been able to somehow adapt to these incredible changes
in the back issue comics world. The evolution has been remarkable!
