Original 1977 STAR WARS Movie Stills - Limited Supply

Howdy!

I want to begin today by thanking everyone who has been patiently waiting for word to arrive from us that their order was finally on its way. Thanks to the amazing dedication of our shipping team, a record number of orders were completed last week, and a similar number should ship by Friday. If all goes as planned, we will be back to completely current by the end of next week. Given that we received such an unprecedented number of responses to our very generous holiday promotions, that is the best that we can do. Your understanding and patience is very much appreciated.

While I am not directly involved with shipping orders, I worked by myself for twelve hours yesterday (Sunday) at the Mile High Comics headquarters building, packing boxes for our impending move of our website fulfillment center into our Jason St. Mega-Store. Simply out, while we have until April 4th to actually vacate our building, I am trying to get as far ahead as I can, before crunch time hits in mid-March. Besides, a great deal of what I am packing requires my personal judgement as to what to move, and what to recycle or throw away. Suffice it to say, our huge dumpster is going to be filled many times before we complete this move.

On the bright side, a very positive outcome of my efforts yesterday was the sheer number of great older comics that I rediscovered in "lost" boxes. We have owned our 56th Ave. building for over 29 years, and it never ceases to amaze me to just how many odd nooks and crannies exist in that place, many of them containing surprisingly nice treasures from my past collection purchases. While most of our inventory staff is currently helping with mitigating our shipping backlog, I do still have our new comics buyer, Will Moulton, to help me by entering some of these "lost" treasures into our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links for you. As a result, you can expect to see a random assortment of nice older comics posted pretty much every day this week.

Meanwhile, just 12 blocks from our 56th Ave. headquarters building, the staff of our Jason St. Mega-Store began shifting the store around on Saturday to make space for the six million comics and magazines that constitute the active portion of our 56th Ave. online inventory. Our current timetable is to clear a huge area in the back of Jason St. by mid-February, and then to start packing trucks with the long boxes and shelving currently in 56th. While we have 400-500 tons! of comics and magazines to move, pallets and fork lifts should make that Herculean task somewhat easier. The hardest part will actually be disassembling, and then reassembling, our thousands of feet of industrial shelving. That one task will definitely take a lot of time and effort...

STAR WARS ORIGINAL MOVIE STILLS (1977)

Moving on to other news, I recently rediscovered a small grouping of original STAR WARS movie stills in an unmarked box in the back of Jason St. These sets were released in May of 1977, and were quite scarce even back then. In 1993, I bought out the warehouse of the poster dealer who originally wholesaled all of our STAR WARS material to me, and discovered that he had misplaced these original stills sets in that same unmarked box. I stashed the box carefully away in our Thornton Mega-Store, but it became lost again after we had to abruptly move out of that building due to a flood. Now, after another 23 years of not knowing where to find them, I finally can offer these awesome collectibles from the very first STAR WARS movie to you.

If you would like to own one of these original sets of eight different STAR WARS stills, I am having Will list them for you on our website at $99.95/set. Each comes in the same plastic sleeve as they were shipped to the theaters in 1977 for display in their lobbies. We only have a few sets available, so once these sets are gone, we'll never be able to offer them again. If interested, please do place your order right away, as all requests will be filled in the order in which they are received.

I will close today's newsletter with a quick reminder that our 40% off MILEHIGH2 codeword sale is still in effect for you on all of our ten million back issue comics and magazines, including most items that we are currently listing in our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links. Only new comics, a few variants, and our CGC-graded issues are excluded. All of our graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and hardcover comics collections are also on sale for you at 40%-50% off, with no codeword needed. Those discounted book prices are posted for you right on our website. Please keep in mind, however, that because we do still have a backlog of unshipped orders to resolve, all orders received this week will need to ship next week.

Happy Collecting!

MILE HIGH STAR WARS POSTER AD

P.S. I thought that you might enjoy seeing this STAR WARS poster that we created in December of 1977. We ran this image as a full page advertisement in the color comics section the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS two weeks before Christmas. The response was so incredible that we sold out of almost everything (including our original stock of still sets) within days.
