X-MEN (1963) (#1-113, UNCANNY X-MEN #114-544) (MARVEL) #72 - Plot Synopsis
X-Men (1963) #72
Double-sized issue. Professor X and his wondrous mutants face off against two terrible foes bent on making mankind kneel in subjugation before them. In our first story, the X-Men race to the American Southwest to face Lucifer, the alien menace responsible for Charles Xavier's partial paralysis. Along the way, they battle some over-zealous ranchers, Lucifer's killer robots and death traps galore. But the most dangerous menace of all has them asking "From When Comes Dominus?" (Written by Roy Thomas with art by Jay Gavin and Dick Ayers).
Then, an embittered but brilliant entomologist perfects a formula that can causes insects to become giant-sized and plots to use them to command the respect of the authorities and his scientific peers. Dressing himself in the manner of a bug, the villain unleashes "The Plague of the Locust!" (Written by Thomas with art by Werner Roth and Ayers). Plus, don't miss how the rest of the X-Men react when Jean (Marvel Girl) Grey heads off to another college.
