X-MEN (1963) (#1-113, UNCANNY X-MEN #114-544) (MARVEL) #289 - Plot Synopsis
X-Men (1963) #289
"Knots" is written by Scott Lobdell and drawn by Whilce Portacio and Scott Williams. Things are changing at the X-Mansion; but what else is new? It seems "change" is the only constant in the house that Professor X built. Newly arrived time-traveler Bishop is still adjusting the casual atmosphere of the past. Strict military training has stiffened Bishop's personal skills but Storm does her best to lighten his mood. However, all of Ororo's attention to Bishop makes Forge jealous and the X-Men's weapon-smith reminds her where her affections should lie.
Meanwhile, Mystique plays mind-games on Archangel by shape-shifting into his younger, pre-Apocalypse form. Unfortunately, he's not in the mood for playing around. His transformation from a marvel of heavenly aspect to a thing made for war and destruction has not been easy on Warren Worthington III. And change is also at the heart of the tensions that erupt when Bobby (Iceman) Drake brings his new Asian girlfriend, Opal, to meet his parents. The ice is broken, so to speak, when the meeting is interrupted by the mysterious Hiro.
