THOR (1962) (#83-125 JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, 126-502) #238 - Plot Synopsis
Thor (1962) #238
Cover by Gil Kane. Guest-starring Hercules. "Night of the Troll!" is written by Gerry Conway and drawn by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott. Thor must become an unlikely ally to his old foe, Ulik of the Trolls as Jane Foster's life hangs in the balance. Ulik has taken Thor's love hostage as a means of forcing the Thunder God to aid him in his battle against King Gierrodur, the monarch of all Trolls. Gierrodur has a new ally of his own, the massive Zontarr, a creature feared by all who view him.
Together, Thor and Ulik face underground serpents and other menaces on their way to confront Gierrodur and Zontarr. But no foe could prepare them for the power of Zontarr unleashed! Meanwhile, Odin still wallows in amnesia and as Orrin, he takes a direct hand in the grape-workers strike spreading across California. How much longer will it be before someone realizes they have an Asgardian god in their midst?
