Description

Green Lantern (1960) #10
Art by Gil Kane. Two titanic tales of the Green Lantern, DC's Emerald Knight. In the first story, a scientist and his family seek to escape this world of conflict for another home in a microscopic universe. Using a device of his own creation, the scientist shrinks himself, his wife, daughter and her fiancee until they enter a sub-atomic world in search of peace. However, once there they find that they cannot escape conflict and the beautiful young daughter becomes a "Prisoner of the Power Ring."

Then, GL's faithful Eskimo friend Pieface asks our hero to tell him "The Origin of Green Lantern's Oath." Through three thrilling stories, Green Lantern relates how he came up with the solemn vow he speaks each 24 hours when re-charges his ring: "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"
