Detective Comics (1937) #367
"Where There's a Will - There's a Slay!" is drawn by Carmine Infantino. Batman has fallen victim to a mind-controlling chain letter setting up a series of murders and only the timely intervention of Robin the Boy Wonder has broken the deadly chain of events. Barred by the mental spell from revealing much about the nature of the criminal that set him up, Batman can only leave puzzling clues for Robin and his faithful butler Alfred to interpret.
Luckily, they are up to the task and soon discover the true culprit, a hypnotist named "Doc" Hastings. However, armed with an electro-shock gun, the Doc proves to be more than a match for the Boy Wonder, although Robin does prevent him from forcing Bruce Wayne to commit murder. Will Batman snap out of his mental prison quickly enough to save his young partner from a similar fate? Then, the Elongated Man becomes a suspect in a series of ski resort robberies in "The Enigma of the Elongated Evildoer!" (art by Infantino).
