X-MEN (1991) (#1-275) (MARVEL) #143 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: X-Men (1991) #143
"Assault on Weapon Plus Part Two of Four: The World" is written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend. Wolverine and Cyclops have accompanied the mysterious Fantomex to a remote research compound where the Weapon Plus program has built a world in which they can control the flow of time. Its purpose: to speed the process of evolution and develop machine-mutant hybrids capable of being used in armed conflict. Before our heroes arrive, however, a human journalist and his mutant rebel guide are witnesses to an armed assault on the compound by agents of A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), a secret society devoted to the pursuit of profitable science at all cost.

The A.I.M. team unwittingly releases Weapon XV from the World; a mutant so powerful he can boil the air inside and outside his foes just by looking at them. Wolverine, Cyclops and Fantomex' path puts them right in the middle of the mutant's rampage! Morrison continues to push the boundaries of Marvel's mutant universe with mind-blowing concepts and dead-on counterculture relevance. Meanwhile, Bachalo's art crossbreeds Alex Nino, Keith Giffen and Simon Bisley for a hypnotic flow of images that never fails to captivate.
