Plot Synopsis: X-Men (1991) #129
A character inspired by the Euro-comic sensation Diabolik, Fantomex is a mutant, a criminal, a terrorist or the X-Men's newest benefactor depending on who's point of view you take. The mystery man has a reputation for being the scourge of Europe but when he seeks asylum with Professor X, he offers gallantly offers information on a menace to all mutantkind. The monster known as Mutant XII, created by anti-mutant factions within the government, now menaces young X-Men in the Paris underground. But before anything can be done to stop it, Professor X, Jean Grey and Fantomex have to get by a small army of police, including the mindless brute known as Animal.

When they do escape, the suave Fantomex summons his personal flying saucer and takes his new X-Men friends to his mountainside mansion. There he makes an offer: a disc containing details on years of experimentation on mutants for 1 billion euros. Within the data lies information on Weapon X, otherwise known as Wolverine. But can Professor X come to an agreement with Fantomex before Mutant XII carves its way the X-Men's young heroes? This story is written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Igor Kordey.
