WESTERN GUNFIGHTERS (1970) #20 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Western Gunfighter (1970) #20
Three ripping tales of the Old West borrowed from the golden days of Marvel's Western comics. First, a gun-toting stranger rides into town yelling that the famous outlaw Kid Colt has been spotted in the surrounding hills and that every man should immediately join a posse to capture him to claim the reward. His tale is believed by all except for Kid Colt who happens to be sitting in the bar even as the stranger spins his yarn. Staying behind as the town's men-folk clear out, the newcomer with the alarming news hooks up with his confederates and proceeds to pillage the town with nary a gun raised to stop them. That is, until Kid Colt shows he's got "A Bullet for a Badman!" (written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Keller).

Then, Tex Dawson, Gunslinger has to defend himself, his horse Whirlwind and his dog Lightning against a mean old prospector with a mad on against everyone and everything (especially wolves). But when Lightning protects the miner's life from a wandering pack of wolves and digs up some gold in the process, the crochetty coot finally sees the light (drawn by John Romita, Sr.). Then, the Apache Kid has to draw on both his Native American and his paleface personas to overcome the prejudices of a well-armed and frightened rancher in "Brand of the Outlaw!" Finally, Kid Colt helps a frontier doctor save a man from an infectious disease while others try to take his life in "One of Us Must Die!" (drawn by Keller).
