WEIRD WONDER TALES (1973) #18 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Weird Wonder Tales #18
Two terrifying tales from Marvel's wild and weird past. First, in a story written by Stan Lee and drawn by Jack Kirby, quake in terror before "Krang!" In the tradition of the Hollywood sci fi horror hit "Them!," this story reveals the dark side of science (first presented in Tales to Astonish #14). Convinced that gigantic insects could be harnessed to replace machines, a scientist approaches the Science Institute for funding. When it turns him down, he travels to Europe to gain the final ingredient he needs for his growth formula. Setting up shop in an abandoned castle, the genius seems close to realizing his dream of replacing machines with super-powerful and titanic insects.

Unfortunately, the greed of a toadish caretaker named Ludwig results in the premature dosing of a tiny ant with the growth formula. The ant grows in size, menace and intelligence, naming itself Krang and insisting that the scientist release his formula so that more enormous ants can assist it in conquering the Earth. Only one thing can stop the six-legged terror now! A giant ant-eater of course! Then, the lovely Venus, the Living Goddess, faces down the horrors of "The Cartoonist's Calamity!," drawn by Bill Everett (originally presented in Venus #17).
