TOMB OF DRACULA (1972) (#1-70) (MARVEL) #9 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Tomb of Dracula (1972) #9
"Death from the Sea!" is written by Marv Wolfman and drawn by Gene Colan with art by Vince Colletta. Can a vampire take a friend? Certainly as Lord of the Undead, Count Dracula has had his share of human servants throughout the centuries: mortals to attend to his needs during the daylight hours when he must rest on a bed of his own Transylvanian soil. But can one such as Dracula ever know a true friendship with a mortal? Our story posits a situation where the vampire lord accomplishes just that.

Left to die in the ocean's currents after a run-in with a biker gang, Dracula is found by denizens of a remote English fishing village called Littlepool. Taken for dead because of his pallor and lack of heartbeat, Dracula is moved to the one place he'd never have chosen for himself: a church. Waking up amid the holy symbols of the God he despises, Dracula panics and thrashes about until he is discovered by the villagers and their priest. Taken in by one of the villagers, a young man determined to escape the small world of Littlepool, Dracula finds an ally and shows uncharacteristic mercy! But when the villagers who and what he is, that friendship is put to the test! Meanwhile, Quincy Harker readies his team for their next assault on the unholy Count!
