SHIELD (1968) (#1-18) (MARVEL) #5 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD #5
"Whatever Happened to Scorpio?" stands out as some of fan favorite Jim Steranko's best work on Marvel's premiere secret agent. Everything that the 1960s fan thought was cool about spies is captured here. Fury's cool-headed and hard-hearted aggressiveness, Val's sensuous European chic, the high tech weaponry, the back alley intrigue and a psychedelic madman for a villain all of which could give James Bond a run for his money.

Fury's search for his long-lost brother leads him to Pickman, a locksmith who could be the twin of Sidney Greenstreet (of the "Maltese Falcon"). Later, in his Ferrari 330/P4 Berlinetta, equipped with flight capability, Fury checks in with SHIELD central and the ESP chamber's Hallucinigenator device used for detecting areas of potential criminal activity. But nothing could prepare Fury for Scorpio and his cosmic Zodiac Key. Falling under the villain's power, Fury wakes up to find himself outfitted as his own LMD (Life Model Decoy) in a death gauntlet set up by SHIELD. Wearing unlucky number 13 and unable to speak, Fury fights for his life while Scorpio takes his place at the head of the world's number one espionage agency.
