Plot Synopsis: New Avengers (2004) #11
First appearance of Ronin. Writer: Brian Michael Bendis. Artists: David Finch and Danny Miki. Guest-starring Daredevil. Since forming the New Avengers after a massive prison break on The Raft, a facility housing super-villains, Captain America has sought to recruit Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, onto the team. But when Cap as Steve Rogers meets with DD as Matt Murdock in Central Park, the blind lawyer explains that his newly public identity would open the entire team up to attack by the U.S. government that is seeking to bring him down. DD even refuses after Cap explains that one of the Raft convicts was the Silver Samurai who now appears to be at the forefront of a bloody new initiative by the Yakuza in Japan.

When Matt refuses to involve Daredevil in Avengers' business, Cap suggest that Murdock adopt an alternate identity just as the Star-Spangled Avenger did when he briefly became Nomad. Murdock responds by suggesting someone else for the job of tracking down the Samurai. That someone, an operative code-named Ronin, is in Tokyo a week later laying out Yakuza ninjas left and right in his search for the escaped super-villain. He finds that the Yakuza has a new ally; Hydra!
