MIGHTY AVENGERS (2007) (#1-36) #7 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Mighty Avengers (2007) #7
"Secret Invasion: The Infiltration" is written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Mark Bagley. Cover by Frank Cho. Spider-Woman leaves the New Avengers, the rebel heroes defying the Superhuman Registration Act, carrying with her the body of a shape-shifting alien Skrull which had been impersonating Elektra at the head of a Yakuza gang in Japan. Her first stop is the home of Tony (Iron Man) Stark, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., whom she entrusts with her suspicions that the Skrull's ruse was prelude to an invasion.

Stark believes her story and in order to act on their suspicions, it's necessary for Spider-Woman to join the Mighty Avengers, Iron Man's grouping of federally sanctioned super-heroes, despite her earlier repudiation of the group. Ms. Marvel, the Wasp and the others are wary of their former compatriot of course, but how there's no other way for these heroes to do battle against what appear to be intergalactic spies. But before the hard work of fighting the Skrulls can begin, a chance encounter in low orbit around the Earth sends a strange meteorite hurtling planet-side. In its wake comes a plague of symbiotes, turning the citizens of New York City into monsters, each one a copy of Venom or Carnage!
