FINAL CRISIS: SUBMIT (2008) #1 VARIANT - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Final Crisis: Submit (2008) #1
"Submit" is written by Grant Morrison with art by Matthew Clark, Norm Rapmund, Rob Hunter and Don Ho. Starring Black Lightning. What makes a hero? Are heroes created by accident of birth, pre-destined for bravery and pre-disposed to noble purpose? Not usually. Usually, heroes are not born but rather molded by events, circumstances and the choices they make when faced with adversity. And there's plenty of adversity to go around these days during this Final Crisis. Darkseid has been reborn on Earth. The Earth's population is rapidly being taken over by the Anti-Life Equation. And super-powered Justifiers seek to assimilate all dissenters and crush all resistance.

The Justifiers, outfitted with will-sapping helmets designed by the Mad Hatter, decree life is a question and Anti-Life is the answer. Astride their giant hunting dogs, they chase the Justice Leaguer Black Lightning through the ruined streets of Bludhaven. Mark Richards, the new Tattooed Man, and his family see the hero's struggle from their temporary hideout tucked away in the ruins of an apartment building. Despite his resentment against "super-heroes," Richards acts to save Black Lightning. He begins to find the hero in himself when he realizes there's no real distinction between the bright, shiny champion and his own self-image as a downtrodden, mistrusted victim; especially when you're both staring at the fangs of ultimate evil!
