EVIL DEAD (2008) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Evil Dead (2008) #1
Part one of a four-part series. Adapted from Sam Raimi's ground-breaking modern horror classic by writer Mark Verheiden and artist John Bolton. For fans of Ash and the Evil Dead trilogy, there's no other motion picture that comes close to this storyline of ancient demons and a young anti-hero who rises up to fight them. The story begins as five students decide to spend the weekend in the country at a cabin that was once occupied by an occult researcher and his wife. Things had ended bloodily for that couple but that by no means dampens their enthusiasm for a weekend of partying far from civilization.

But a reading of the occultist's notes and a playing of the tape recordings of his arcane incantations proves to be a fatal mistake for the campers. Freed by the spell, demons, ancient and terrifying in manner, are once again unleashed upon the Earth, possessing the bodies of one after another of the young vacationers. More bad news: The only "cure" for this murderous curse is bodily dismemberment. Now, where did I leave that chainsaw?
