CONAN (1970) (#1-275) (CONAN THE BARBARIAN) (MARVEL) #37 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Conan (1970) #37
"The Curse of the Golden Skull" is written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Neal Adams. A curse as old as Atlantis is revisited on the Hyborean Age as Conan and his new ally Juma (created by Lin Carter and L. Sprague De Camp) face off against ancient evil. A caravan of warriors from Turan, escorting the Princess Yolinda with Conan alongside as a mercenary, comes under attack from savage Hill tribesmen. But, rather than the ragtag brawlers the Turanians usually encounter in the hills, these barbarians are well-armored, well-trained and highly motivated.

The skirmish goes badly for the Turanians and survivors are herded to a wondrous lake in the nook of a mountain. There in the lake's middle, a gleaming tower stands with a magnificent palace at its apex. Within this structure, the gold-skinned lord of the Hillsmen called Rotath the All-Conquering proclaims that Princess Yolinda will be his bride and when Conan and Juma protest, he orders their deaths. Among Rotath's weapons are carnivorous apes, giant lizards and a mammoth slug that could spell doom for not only Conan, but all living things in its path!
