Plot Synopsis: Captain America (1968) #141
Guest-starring the Falcon and Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. "The Unholy Alliance!" is written by Stan Lee and drawn by John Romita and Joe Sinnott. The Grey Gargoyle has learned of Element X, the most lethal chemical compound on Earth; a few drops can split the planet in two. The Falcon has gone out ahead to take on the villain but has fallen victim to the Gargoyle's petrifying touch.

More, on top of now being made of animate stone, the Falcon has come under the Gargoyle's thrall and takes on his partner Cap in one-on-one combat. And just when the Star-Spangled Avenger thinks he has Sam Wilson thinking clearly again, he realizes that it's all been a ruse and the Grey Gargoyle has used Cap's trust to get himself aboard the famous S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli-carrier and one step closer to Element X
