BROTHERHOOD (2001) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Main Story Be All That You Can Be
Plot Synopsis: The Brotherhood #1
Number one collectors' item! Forget the garish costumes, secret lairs and grandiose threats the old Brotherhood of Evil Mutants engaged in. This is the new Brotherhood for a new millennium. "Revolution not Evolution" is their mantra and quick, terrorist strikes on civilian targets is their methodology. Their tactics are torn from today's headlines. This series poses the question 'What if mutants really existed as a counter-culture in today's world?' The answer is a frightening glimpse at a nightmare world that may not be far off.

Orwell and Hoffman are recruiting troubled, young mutants like Oswald who haven't even heard of Professor Xavier's vision of a peaceful co-existence with humans. In Moscow, they paint their rebellious message in blood at a crowded disco.

A world away, in the hallways of a U.S. high school, more trouble brews. Mikey feels his body going through the changes of puberty and the development of mutant powers. And Fagin, one of the Brotherhood, is conveniently right there to help him fight back against a world of misunderstanding and prejudice. Drawn with real-world intensity by Essad Ribic with plot and words provided by the mysterious X.

Continuity: Storyline continues in THE BROTHERHOOD #2
