BATMAN ANNUAL (1961) (#1-28) (DC) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Batman Annual #1
The first Batman annual special is a fine celebration of some of the Gotham Knight's best tales, all by series creator Bob Kane. First off, Robin is in double trouble trying to stop the wily Dr. Sampson when first he must teach Bruce Wayne "How to Be the Batman!" When amnesia robs the Caped Crusader of all of his memory and skills, the Boy Wonder has to bring him up to speed in time to save his own life.

This issue also features "The Strange Costumes of Batman" which revisits many of the Batman's most ingenious costume changes and the criminal cases associated with them. But what is the strangest Batman costume ever? Read on and find out! In "Untold Tales of the Bat-Signal," an enterprising reporter must find a tale where the Bat-Signal itself saved the day. And in "The Origin of the Bat-Cave," the crime-fighting duo go back in time to colonial America to visit the first underground, crime-fighting headquarters. Then, "Batman's Electronic Crime File" is stolen and Batman and Robin must retrieve it before the underworld can exploit its secrets. "Thrilling Escapes of Batman and Robin!" and "The Amazing Inventions of Batman" round out this must-have collection.
