ANNIHILATORS (MARVEL) (ROCKET RACCOON) (2011) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Annihilators (2011) #1
"Black It on the Black Star" is written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning with art by Tan Eng Huat and Victor Olazaba. Quasar. Beta Ray Bill. Ronan the Accuser. The Silver Surfer. Gladiator. Too many cooks in the cosmic kitchen. That's the message Ikon a SpaceKnight gives to the Annihilators, self-appointed sentinels of the universe whose combined power could topple reality off its axis. Instead of a collection of god-like beings who could inadvertently cause damage on a galaxy-wide scale, Ikon says, what is needed is a smaller band of skilled protectors who could act more as a scalpel to the universe's ills rather than an axe.

Ikon challenges each of the Annihilators in one on one combat to teach them humility and to get them ready for the return of a menace well familiar to her people: the Dire Wraiths! Then, in a back-up feature witness the awe-inspiring return of Rocket Raccoon and Groot, the Monarch of Planet X! A killer clown robot is delivered to Timely Inc., Rocket's new employer, and that kicks off a rollicking, rock'em sock'em rampage that leads our furry fighter straight to Planet X in search of his arboreal ally. But once Rocket gets there, he has difficulty finding his particular tree in a very angry forest. Written by Abnett and Lanning with art by Timothy Green II.
