Plot Synopsis: Adventure Comics #334
Who is "The Unknown Legionnaire"? This hero was more powerful than Superboy and yet had the shortest career with the Legion of any of its allies. This strange story begins with the escape of the criminal genius, Dr. Norm Eldor, from the Prison Planetoid. After saying goodbye to Supergirl, who must return to the 20th century to protect her secret identity, the Legion tracks the crook to a strange world where shapeshifting Proteans (like Chameleon Boy's pet Proty II) are native.

The surface of the planet is littered with ruins of an ancient civilizations and its among these towers and caves that Dr. Eldor commands a legion of his own--Proteans he's convinced to follow his lead. With Sun Boy, Brainiac 5 and Saturn Girl suddenly his prisoners, things look bleak for the Legion until a mysterious hero in a lead mask appears. But who is he or she? Find out the startling answer!
